Blog Post 2 - Collaboration in the Classroom

Collaboration is a fundamental skill that allows students, teachers, and parents to stay connected within and outside the classroom. Collaboration allows communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking. It gives students a chance to share their opinions and ideas, learn from one another, and develop a class that thrives through teamwork which is essential for learners’ success.

To instill collaboration in the classroom, teachers should create group activities and use technology to engage in endless interaction. Being able to provide students with more collaborative opportunities in and outside the classroom will ensure engagement.

As easy as it is said to install collaboration in the classroom it can be difficult as well. Here are some examples of how to add it in the classroom. 1: Peer Reviews, students review and provide feedback on their classmate’s work, by giving more ideas and constructive criticism. 2: Collaborative Writing, using Microsoft Word or Google Docs enables all students to contribute to the discussion through a shared document. 3: Group Research Projects, students come together and work on a certain topic. They gather tons of information and present their findings together. By involving collaborative strategies in the classroom, teachers can create an interactive, inclusive, and engaging classroom that allows students to prepare for future education success.
