In the book, Transform Learning Through Technology: A Guide to the ISTE Standards for Coaches, Lisa Kuhn, an educational technology integration specialist and technology coach, works with K-12 educators across the school district in Ohio. Her work centered around the collaborative partnerships with 250+ teachers. She overall focused on the wants and the needs of the teachers in the district. She works with educators to set goals, brainstorm ideas for activities and tools surrounding the classroom, plan and prepare lessons, instrument lessons, and reflect on the results after. Overall, Kuhn worked closely with one of the educators in the school to explore and find new instructional strategies and learning content and tools. Then, they used the information to use technology effectively.
Collaboration in the education system is one major key to success for both educators and students. Educators can collaborate with other educators to set goals and share ideas to help create accomplished students in the classroom. Educators can also collaborate with students to better understand ways each student learns and can hopefully help teachers get more creative with their teaching methods. Collaboration creates healthier environments and better thinking strategies. The end result in education is improvement in student learning.
