I always knew communication was key, I think it is extremely important. Especially as a teacher. Teachers have to communicate with students, parents, administrators, and other teachers. Communication comes with teaching. After reading The “Communicators” chapter in the textbook Sail the 7 C’s taught me so many new tools that will be helpful for furthering my education and also for when I’m a teacher. One tool such as the immersive reader, this tool is great for people who have might have a vision issue, need translation, dyslexia ,or people who are auditory learners. This tool allows students to adjust text size, spacing, font style, and background color. This tool can also do text to speech which is amazing for auditory learners. I used this tool so many times growing up and think it is such an important tool.
Lots of people when they think of communication might think face-to-face but there are so many other ways to communicate. I think that this course is so informative as well and has informed me on so many tools and I am very excited to use them in my future classroom.
I completely agree with you – communication is absolutely vital, especially in teaching. It’s not just about relaying information, but about ensuring all students feel supported and heard. The 7 C’s have really opened my eyes to the many layers of communication, and I’m especially excited about tools like the immersive reader. It's fantastic that it can be so adaptable for different learning needs. I also love how you pointed out that communication goes beyond face-to-face interactions. In today's world, there are so many ways to connect with others, and understanding these tools will make you a more effective teacher in the long run. It’s inspiring to see how much you're looking forward to integrating these tools into your future classroom!
ReplyDeleteHello Angelina, I am Mackenzie! You are right, communication is so important, specifically in the classroom! Educators need to communicate every single day, with students, parents, and teachers. I appreciate that you mentioned how there can sometimes be communication barriers, and that you have learned about tools to help you through them. I actually wrote my blog post on Microsoft Translator, a tool that helps translation and communication break through language barriers. If you haven't heard of it you should check it out! It definitely is relevant with what you have written about here. Without communication, there would be no integration of ideas and without that, education would cease to exist. Thank you for this post!
ReplyDeleteAgreed! People often fail to realize communication is not just a face-to-face type of thing. Communication can occur in many different ways (writing, reading, singing, through the internet, etc.). Especially as time goes on and technology evolves we are given many more opportunities to create new forms and new ways to communicate rather than speaking face-to-face.
