Virtual Tour of the White House

For this virtual field trip, I toured the White House through a 360 degree interactive experience. This tour provided a unique chance to explore the rooms and halls of one of the most iconic buildings in the history of the US.

During the virtual tour I was able to explore rooms such as the Red Room and the State Dining Room. While exploring these rooms I could interact with a variety of points where I could read information about the different rooms and the decorations throughout the building. This was a nice touch that you would not be able to experience in a regular tour. There is so much information contained in this tour that it would probably take someone days just to read it all. The information is also not confined to text, as there are also many informational videos you can view about the different rooms throughout the tour.

Another unique aspect of this tour that I enjoyed was the way you could view the space. You are provided options to view the rooms from the perspective of a person at your own pace, or on a set tour. You can also view the White House in sections as if you were looking at a doll house with separate floors to view from unique angles that could not be seen anywhere else.

For anyone that is interested in the history of the White House or the United States I highly recommend taking this virtual tour to experience it yourself. You can find this tour here, Tour the White House in 360 Degrees. This interactive experience offers a deeper look at one of the most important buildings in the U.S., making it an engaging way to learn about its history.

  1. I find this really enjoyable. I didn't actually know they had mini-virtual tours in the white house. I saw it as a place you needed special permission to go to. I also like the 360-degree angle you mentioned. many sites don't offer that kind of visual tool.

  2. WOW! This is so cool. I had no idea they offered a look into the white house. The curriculum I am using has a president unit and had I known this existed I would have showed the students around the house. I think they would have loved it!

  3. I think this idea is overall very interesting. I had no idea that this was available, but this could be a great way for those who have a disability or not enough time or money to visit the White House to be allowed to view and see what is inside. I think many other buildings should have things like this because this can help many people have an experience they never would have been allowed or available for before.

    1. When I was younger, I was always curious of what the White House looked like inside. Are there any bedrooms, is there a kitchen, how many offices are there? It is incredible that we are able to see it through our own screens and finally answer any questions we may have had. It would be wonderful if other important and powerful buildings located in our country can be shown, just like the White House is!

  5. This is so cool! Given that it would be kind of hard to get in, this 360 visual tour does the trick. The tool works great and has very high quality images. The images look up to date and the scale of things look right. Really good virtual tour.
