A look into WE Virtual Learning Center
As a future kindergarten teacher, I'm always looking for ways to create a classroom that’s not only fun and engaging but also meaningful for my students' social and emotional growth. During a recent exploration of the WE Virtual Learning Center, I discovered just how many powerful tools are out there for educators like me who care deeply about student well-being.
One of the most impactful resources I found was the “Say it Now: Why Gratitude is a Key Ingredient for Well-being”course under the WE Teachers section. It highlighted how gratitude isn’t just a feeling, it's a skill that can be nurtured and modeled in the classroom. I loved that the course gave real-life strategies for helping students understand and express gratitude in simple, age-appropriate ways. For kindergarteners, this might look like a daily gratitude circle, journaling with drawings, or even role-playing thank-you scenarios during center time.
The course included reflection questions, interactive videos, and supportive content that really helped me think about how I can personally embody gratitude as an educator. I realized that before I can teach my students to be thankful and kind, I have to practice those same habits myself both online and offline.
What makes the WE Virtual Learning Center so special is how it blends SEL, global awareness, and hands-on learning in ways that are truly kid-friendly. I’m excited to explore more of their resources, especially the DIY Action Campaigns and lesson plans that encourage student voice, even at a young age. I can already imagine my future students feeling empowered to care about themselves, their classmates, and the world around them.
